The Pinto brothers, 37 year old Wilword and 34 year old Brian were charged with burglary for stealing nearly $30,000 in cell phones, digital cameras, and other electronics from the Tourism Village. But before a jury could judge them, today they pled guilty to the lesser charge of handling stolen goods. The allegation was that the brothers burglarized Vishal Sabnani’s booth in Terminal Four at the Tourism Village between September 14th and 17th of 2006.
Wilword was a security guard at the Tourism Village and just prior to the burglary he had asked a fellow security guard for a tour of Terminal Four. No one saw the Pinto brothers enter the village but Adolpho Pineda testified that in September of 2006 Wilford Pinto sold him some of the stolen phones. After 8 witnesses had been called, the brothers approached prosecutor
Douglas Carr yesterday and asked for the plea bargain. They will be sentenced on February 20th.
