It is probably one of the most despicable acts of sexual violence to have come across our news desk in recent memory, tonight a young man is in police custody after he not only robbed an elderly man but sodomized the sixty four year resident of Placencia Village. It all unfolded around nine thirty on Monday night.
Twenty three year old Jerris Martinez, a resident of Dangriga Town, is the person who police say broke into the home, and then placed a knife to the sixty four year old man’s throat and demanded money. The victim handed over US$900 and a digital camera. But instead of leaving, Martinez then ordered the older man to take off his clothes, performed oral sex on him, and then sodomized him. Placencia police say there was no consent involved as the older man was under the threat of grave injury.
It did not take long for police to arrest Jerris Martinez – who has spent time in prison before - and charge him with aggravated burglary, wounding, unnatural crime and harm.
