And the Chester Williams story is very directly related to another story, the disappearance of Yoshua Roches. We first told you about him on 22nd February. Now take out your notepads, because if you’re following at home you may need a diagram to follow this one. Roches was allegedly abducted by a group including a policeman – and that same policeman, according to Williams, is now the one that is informing about him. Informing, Williams claims, after investigators were closing in on his involvement in the Roches disappearance. An insidious tangle of stories, but just one missing 17 year old and today I spoke to his family.

Jacqueline Godwin Reporting,
It has been one month that seventeen year old Yyoshua Roches better known as Anthony has been missing. While there is no proof that he has been killed the family insists that their loved one was murdered and that at least six persons including a junior police officer are involved. Reports are that on Wednesday February twentieth Roches was seen getting inside the police constable’s vehicle and was then taken into the area of Gwen Lizarraga High School where he was then put into a red van and taken somewhere along the Western Highway and allegedly murdered.

While the reports are that the group had met to commit a robbery the family believe their son and brother was only called out to be executed. According to Kennrick Nunez he was with his younger sibling earlier that night around seven thirty. They met for about half an hour but that was the last time he saw his brother.

Kenrick Nunez, Brother of Missing Man
“I left him and told him I will go home and bathe and I will come back. Half hour after I went home I came back and his girlfriend told me he just left and went. So I went for a ride up in the same areas and I didn’t see him, I didn’t hear anything. I circled the whole place where I thought he went and I still didn’t find him. I came back an hour later looking for him and I still didn’t find him, all for the rest of the night to Thursday morning when I got up and went back to his house and his girlfriend told me he didn’t come back.

And from then I started my own search to cut about and see who I could find or anybody who could tell me something else but well I came across a young boy the same Thursday morning who told me that he somebody told him they saw my little brother get in a police vehicle, which a police is supposed to be the owner of. I don’t really know who is the police, he didn’t really tell me the name, but I guess that is one of the reasons they said probably a policeman is involved in my brother’s disappearance.”

According to Joe Nunez, on that Thursday, he visited the residence of one of the young men his brother had reportedly been with the night before but his brother was not there.

Joe Nunez, Brother of Missing Man
“Everybody was in the yard hanging a nice time, drinking up a little something and hang out and thing. When I reached the yard in inquired about my little brother and I asked them if they saw my brother. Everybody said they hadn’t seen him because they were supposed to do certain things last night but because he didn’t do it. That is that right there.”

Jacqueline Godwin,
What certain things were they supposed to do?

Joe Nunez,
“Well what I get to understand is that they were supposed to go on some move, some robbery business but because this man didn’t show up, they didn’t go anywhere.”

Jacqueline Godwin,
Which man, your brother?

Joe Nunez,
“Yeah basically because my little brother didn’t show up they didn’t go again. That is what they were saying in the yard.”

Jacqueline Godwin,
You believe that story?

Joe Nunez,
“No man, I don’t believe that because when I reached the yard they were partying in the yard so I know for a fact they went to do something.”

Since that day Roches’ family has been desperately trying to find him but it has come at a cost. This is a threatening text message that Joe Nunez received following an interview last Friday.

Joe Nunez,
“I get threatening message on my phone talking about I should watch my back because I am the next one who will go missing. I want to tell those young boys that I am scared of them. I am not worrying about them, I don’t walk around watching my back because I don’t fear nobody. God has my back so I don’t need to worry about them. They know they did wrong. They are facey, they are threatening me because I am trying to find my brother’s body, that is past the mark now man.”

But the family vows to remain vigilant until their brother is found. Agnes Nunez says at first she did not believe that her son was gone but now she is certain that he is dead…and not only that.

Agnes Nunez, Mother Suspects Foul Play
“My heart is telling me that there are some police officers involved in my child’s disappearance. Anthony would not have gone for almost a month and don’t come back. His clothes is here, his passport is here, everything but where is he.”

Kenrick Nunez,
“I got that belief, nobody can’t tell me that the policeman who they have under investigation right now doesn’t know about my little brother because me personally went to them and I asked them and they told me they haven’t seen my little brother and I get a word that when they were questioning the police officer he denied the fact that he knows my brother any at all so right there that gives me the fact that they know about my little brother.”

Joe Nunez,
“According to what the streets are telling us, that the same people who this man was supposed to go with, or the same people who had it out for him, supposed to take him on this move and after that they decided to do away with his body and they took him and killed him on the road. They supposed to cut this man throat and buried him at either 8 miles, 10 miles, or mile 31 through the Coastal Road.”

Sr. Supt. Chester Williams,
“It is a very serious matter and I think the Police Department needs to do something about it. They need to look into it, a person is missing out there and we need to get to the bottom of it.”

According to the head of PPRI, Senior Superintendent of Police Chester Williams at the time they too had received information about the possibility of one of their own being involved he directed CIB to investigate the report.

Sr. Supt. Chester Williams,
“We are not saying that he is involved but there are certain information that need to be followed in relation to him in order to either exonerate him from it or to show that has some sort of connection. So those are the information that need to be followed and the directive that I had given to CIB was basically just to look at certain things because the information was out there. And what we want at the end of the day was that in the event that the officer’s name was being called, we could always tell people that the officer was brought in, he was interviewed, and this is what we got – we do not believe he is involved or we believe he is involved. So when we have information we need to investigate not only to tie someone to something but also to exonerate them from certain information.”

The Roches family believes the police have done little to find out what happened. Agnes strongly believes that her son was killed because of a 2007 robbery when he was shot in the back and later charged. Roches spent jail time and recently released.

According to Williams, the officer whose involvement is being hinted at, is presently being hidden by other officers. In a truly crazy story line, they are protecting him from Williams’ supposed death-squad who you will recall he is exposing.
