Chinese man Charged for Murder

And tonight, there is one murder victim to add to this month’s already staggering total. Chi Cheong Chan, the 50-year-old Chinese businessman who was shot at his business place on Wednesday evening, died on Saturday morning.

As we had reported both he and his wife Ivy were shot in a business dispute with another Chinese man, Yong Sheng Zhang. Sheng Zhang went to their business place in the Belama area and opened fire on the pair with a 9-millimeter pistol. Cheong Chan had to undergo emergency surgery and died from post surgical complications. Ivy Chan is reportedly in a stable condition.

The charges against Sheng Zhang have been upgraded to murder. He remains on remand at the Hattieville prison.
