A young Chinese national remains in police custody after he tried to run away from the cops in Benque Viejo. Around twelve forty on Tuesday afternoon Benque Viejo police on patrol in the Paslow Falls area which is situated close to the Guatemalan border observed a black Toyota 4-Runner on a feeder road in the Santa Rosa area.
According to the police this area is often used by illegal cross border immigrants and that’s just what they believe the suspects were doing when they were spotted. Police believe there were a total of five men inside the vehicle that bore Guatemalan license plates.
But when they approached the SUV all of the occupants quickly jumped out of the vehicle and ran away. The police chased them on foot, but only managed to capture twenty one year old Xiang Zeng. Inside the vehicle, police found thirteen rounds of.22 ammunition and a gun license for a twenty two rifle in the name of Jose Sandoval Leon of Moralez Izabel, Guatemala.
Police believe those who did manage to get away are two Chinese nationals and two Guatemalan nationals who are now being sought. Zeng has been detained for illegal entry.
