Belize City police still do not know who killed thirty five year old Steven Arnold better known as Cat, but they have been receiving information that may suggest why he was murdered. Sources tell 7NEWS that the homicide may be linked to an incident in September of 2007 when Arnold was along with Ian Reid when they were shot at the corner of Dean Street and East Canal. Arnold was treated and released but Reid died from his injury.
Following his release from the KHMH, Arnold in a rare interview with Jacqueline Godwin denied allegations that he was responsible for that shooting in which reports suggest he may have even set it up. Arnold at the time said not only was he not involved but he did not know why it happened and who shot them.
Today however police confirmed to 7NEWS that they are investigating information which suggests that Arnold did know who shot him and because of that he was killed. However authorities say the case has been difficult because at the time of the initial shooting Arnold did not cooperate with them and they have had to rely on witnesses’ accounts to try and determine who is responsible.
