Two men are in jail tonight – one for rape and the other for the sexual assault of a 15 year old girl. The girl along with her mother went to police on Saturday where she told investigators that on Friday afternoon she was at her boyfriend, Giovanni Luriano’s home in the St. Martin’s Deporres area along with 28 year old Marlon Harris, and 21 year old Alex Lyons. She admits to having consensual relations with her boyfriend but then claims that Harris raped her. She further alleges that 21 year old Alex Lyons sexually assaulted her.
Harris was charged with rape and Lyons with aggravated assault of an indecent nature. Lyons pleaded not guilty to the charge in court. No plea was taken from Harris since rape is an indictable offense. Both men protested their innocence but the prosecutor requested remand and Magistrate Sharon Frazer denied bail. They will get another shot at bail when they reappear in court on July 25th.
Police are seeking Jiovanni Lauriano, who is allegedly the 15 year old’s boyfriend.
