PM Barrow \"Open to Discussion\" on Controversial Constitutional Amendments

For a few weeks now a public controversy has been simmering over the 6th amendment to the Constitution Bill. Various interest groups have expressed concern over different aspects of the large package of amendments. Well today in his budget speech Prime Minister Dean Barrow said, he hears them too.

Hon. Dean Barrow,
“We are engaged in even broader consultations on the constitutional amendment Bill which is before this Honorable House. Let me take the opportunity of assuring all those that attended the public hearings that we will be making such changes as the positions expressed merit. This is the UDP way. We are always open to discussion. We are always willing to listen. We take all views into account as we secure now the future for Belize.”
