This morning, while the police were talking to the press about what they plan to do to combat the increase in crime at headquarters on Raccoon Street, a team of officers were suddenly called out of the conference room. They were dispatched to report to a call that had come in about an armed hold up and robbery unfolding at Baymen Cable Network on Baymen Avenue. When 7NEWS arrived on the scene shortly after, the gunman had left already and the cops were busy inside the building gathering information.
From what we’ve been able to piece together, a gunman went into the office, ordered all the employees into a room, pistol whipped the security guards and demanded the money. They showed him to the cash drawer and he got off with about $600. No one was shot but the security guard who so far has not been identified was taken to the hospital by police.
The business manager declined to speak to the media about the hold up and police say their investigations have just started. Investigators have been questioning a number of suspects.
