She was violently flung from the back seat of an Isuzu Trooper on Thursday and baby Tori Cox succumbed to her injuries around four on Friday evening. Baby Cox was reportedly sitting in her uncle’s lap in the back seat of her father’s vehicle when Ladyville Police say Luke Cox lost control of the SUV and ran the vehicle directly in to the path of a tour van that was travelling in the opposite direction.
Authorities say the impact from the head on collision was so great that the baby and her uncle who were supposedly seated in the middle of the back seat were launched forward and crashed through the windshield.
Police have been unable to interview Luke Cox to find out what caused him to lose control of the Isuzu Trooper because he has been under medical care. Police say a total of fifteen people were injured, ten tourists and five Belizeans.
