...While British Tourist Drowns in Mopan River

Some four hours later police in the Cayo District were responding to yet another water tragedy. This time it was a thirty five year old British tourist identified as Victoria Jane Harmer. The young woman was along with a group of four other tourists tubing on the Mopan River in Succotz Village towards Calla Creek when upon nearing Clarissa Falls resort harmer encountered problems.

It is reported that Victoria Harmer was thrown off her tube when it overturned after passing a current. Although she was taken out of the water and CPR was administered she died. Victoria Jane Harmer’s body now awaits a post mortem at the San Ignacio Hospital.
