Last night we told you about Jimmy Singh’s high speed chase and shootout on Sunday night with police. As expected, today the 30 year old was slapped with 4 additional counts of aggravated assault for the shootout which began after police received information that Singh had assaulted Kimberly Westby with a gun. They set chase and while they asked Singh to pull over he didn’t. Officers allege he parked on Newtown Barracks and when they approached he opened fire. He was finally arrested at the corner of 9th Street and Baymen Avenue.
Today in court one of the aggravated assault charges were dropped after the said Kimberly Westby – who is Singh’s sister in law – asked Magistrate Edd Usher to drop it. But Singh is still facing the three aggravated assault charges and he has the two year jail sentence he received yesterday when he pled guilty to possession of an unlicensed firearm and driving under the influence.
And if all that wasn’t bad enough, today in court he went on trial for speeding in a boat in a “no wake” zone. It is charge dating back to early 2008 but the Port Authority says they finally caught with Singh. He pled guilty to the charge and was fined $150.
And in case you didn’t notice, Singh’s family says the bruises on his face were caused by police and they plan to file a complaint with internal affairs.
