First off, our next story is not suitable for children, so if you have them in the room, you’ll want to ask them to leave. Gone? Good. Remember this man? He is fifty four year Salvadoran national Brigido Majano, the man who Belize City police caught having sex with a dog!
The animal which was found on top of Majano as the two engaged in a sexual act is reportedly a neighbour’s dog whose owner had reported to police that Majano had stolen the animal. Well today, four months later, Brigido Majano reappeared in Magistrate’s Court. In October, he pleaded guilty to committing an un-natural crime, but he pleaded not guilty to the theft charge.
In his defence, Majano maintained that it was the dog who jumped over the fence to come over to where he was working. In October, he told the court that when the canine started wagging its tail, he could not resist. Majano who worked as a watchman at an Albert Street West address told the court that he had sex with the dog because he did not know have the strength to court women. And while the whole bizarre episode has become the stuff of lore, today he was back in court where it was decided that rather than serve time in Belize’s jail, he will be extradited to his home country of El Salvador.
According to court reports Brigido Majano has been classified as a prohibited immigrant since a background check revealed that he entered Belize by the Benque border through the Mopan River in February 2007. According to court reports, the cost to extradite Majano will not be at the expense of the Belize government but the Salvadoran Embassy in Belmopan will cover the cost.
In the meantime Brigido Majano remains on remand at the Hattieville Prison until his extradition is finalized which is expected to be in two weeks time during which immigration officers will continue to investigate the accused to determine if he is wanted in his home country for any criminal offence.
