On Monday we told you about the murder of 29 year old Annette Palacio which occurred early Saturday morning in Corozal. While it didn’t get much attention because of the unrest in Orange Walk which blocked the road to Corozal – under any other circumstances it would have been a headline because Palacio was brutally killed. A post mortem conducted today certified that she was strangled. But in addition to being choked to death, one of Palacio’s hands was broken, she was stabbed in the neck, and she had bruises on her face. She was then thrown in the water where she was found early on Saturday morning. Police say her ex-boyfriend Victor Hendy killed Annette in a jealous rage. He has been arrested and charged for murder but that’s little consolation to her brother Alexander Francis. Today he told us why.
Alexander Francis, Brother of Deceased
“They had a relationship before but she left this man long time and he kept disturbing her and it ended this way. She chased him and told him to leave her alone and he refused to leave her alone. The whole family nuh happy.

It hurts all of us a lot because they took a big part of the family from we.”
Keith Swift,
Was he harassing her? Was he jealous?
Alexander Francis,
“All of that. He was a jealous person because that is what really lead to all of this, to make this happen.”
Keith Swift,
Do you know where she was on Friday night?
Alexander Francis,
“Well I last saw her Friday afternoon when I went to work to collect and she talked to me and asked me how much I collect and thing and told me she is coming home and from then I didn’t see her again after that. When I get this news that my sister dead, it really shocked me because I know she is a person who she doesn’t have problems with anyone. I don’t know why he had to do this.
The last thing I have to say is if the law can’t give my family justice out of my sister’s life, this won’t done just like this because we nuh happy with it yet and will never be happy with it because I love my sister. All of we love she and we really miss she a lot.”
Annette Palacio will be buried tomorrow afternoon in Corozal.
