A twenty six year old man is tonight behind bars tonight charged for the senseless beating of his two year old stepson David Castro. Police investigations reveal that twenty six year old carpenter Pedro Chen of the Indianville area of Punta Gorda pushed the child to the ground causing the boy to burst his lip and bleed from his nose – all this because the stepfather was annoyed that the child was not his and he wanted the child’s biological father to raise the toddler.
According to the boy’s mother twenty three year old Rosa Castro on February eleventh she left her son in the care of Pedro Chen so she could go and buy at a nearby shop but when she returned ten minutes later she saw her son lying on the ground crying and Chen was screaming at him.
According to Castro when her son stood up, Chen pushed her baby back on the ground and that is when she ran to help her child but Chen kicked her and then pushed the baby back down and that is when her son was injured. According to the mother, it appeared as if Pedro Chen had been drinking. The mother did file a report with the police who wasted no time in taking Pedro Chen into custody. He has been charged for the crime of wounding and common assault.
