He won the New Year’s race and was supposed to ride in this Sunday’s Valentine’s Classic but Marlon Castillo won’t. In fact the cycling phenom probably won’t ride any more races for this year because he was seriously injured this morning.

According to a press release from his team manager Santino Castillo, Marlon was returning from the customary “speed ride” on Thursday morning and was riding at about 10 miles per hour when he touched the back wheel of another cyclist. Castillo flew over his handle, tumbled to the pavement and broke his collar bone.

He was rushed to the hospital and according to the release – Marlon will be unable to ride for at least three and maybe even four months. That means he won’t get to participate in the Cross Country race.
