Mennonite Charged for Accident that Crushed School Boy's Head

Police have charged the Spanish Lookout resident whose 10 wheeler ran over

and crushed little Eli Suarez’s head on Friday afternoon.

As we showed you in the gory images on Friday, Eli was riding home from school on Perez Road in Ladyville just around midday when he was run over by 26 year old Spanish Lookout resident Johan Niekoley’s 10 wheeler. Investigations now indicate that he may have been holding onto the truck and lost control. He was crushed under the truck’s rear wheels.

Niekoley was charged with manslaughter by negligence, causing death by careless conduct, and driving a motor vehicle without due care and attention. He released on bail $5.000 plus a surety in the same amount. He is due back in court on May 15th.
