Police today charged 21 year old Ronlee Petillo with attempted murder for allegedly shooting Stackles Monsanto on Tuesday night. Monsanto told us that he was walking on Euphrates Avenue when Petillo pulled up beside him, pointed a gun at him, and then pulled the trigger. Monsanto was hit in his right shoulder and in his left leg where a bullet is still lodged. But it’s not what hit him, but what missed; 7 expended shells were recovered from the scene.
And though he narrowly cheated death, on this newscast last night, Monsanto vowed to exact his own revenge if police didn’t arrest Petillo. But now it appears that won’t be necessary since Petillo was picked up yesterday evening and charged today. He was charged for attempted murder in addition to use of deadly means of harm and dangerous harm. He was remanded to prison until May 8th.
And as much as we said Monsanto is no stranger to the law, neither is Petillo. He was charged for the January 2006 murder of 18 year old Dennis "Tiki" Gladden. Those charges were later withdrawn due to a lack of evidence. In addition to that – Petillo has also been charged for numerous robberies.
