Yesterday afternoon at around 2 police busted 35 year old Joseph Panting, on Hondo Street with an unlicensed black 9 millimeter pistol containing 16 live rounds. Police say they were patrolling the area when their attention was drawn to Panting, better known as “Tencho”, who was acting suspiciously and attempted to flee upon seeing the officers. Police say when they caught up with him, the handgun fell from his pants and was retrieved. He was charged with keeping a firearm and ammunition without a gun license. He was remanded when he appeared in court today.
It’s of note that Tencho, who was arrested and charged for murdering 30 year old Kirk Ortega on September 4th, 2007 in front of Pratt’s Fry Chicken on the same Hondo Street, was cleared of all charges in August of 2008.
