We knew her identity from last night but tonight we know just how horrible Ella Bennett’s death was. She was the woman found partially nude on the veranda of an unoccupied house on Central American Boulevard yesterday. It is believed she was raped and there was evidence of torture of a sexual nature.
A post mortem certified that she died of massive brain hemorrhage due to multiple skull fracture with a blunt instrument type. In other words – her head had been bashed in – more than likely with a brick found nearby. As we told you, police initially detained Edward Bulwer, known Pleck, who was the last person she was seen alive with. He has not been charged.
Ella Bennett, known as Gyal Gyal, is originally from Honduras but relocated to Belize more than 20 years ago.
