Just moments before news time, a dump truck crashed into a single cab pickup truck on the Northern Highway. Both vehicles were heading to Ladyville but the truck’s driver Baltazar Goodger says that at mile 4 and a half the pickup’s driver Erasmo Perez made an unexpected u-turn.

Baltazar Goodger, Truck Driver
“The man was making a u-turn, two of us going up to Ladyville and he was making a u-turn. I thought he was going in there but no so. He decided he would spin around in front of me and then I decided I would run off the road but he continued turning and then that is when we collided.”

Keith Swift,
“Did you get injured?”

Baltazar Goodger,
“No, he got a little cut in his

forehead but that was about it.”

Keith Swift,
“What was in your truck?”

Baltazar Goodger,
“Nothing, I just dumped my load and left from the gas station.”

Keith Swift,
“What again were his injuries?”

Baltazar Goodger,
“He got a cut on the forehead. He was bleeding on the seat he was sitting on.”

Keith Swift,
“So both of you were heading to Ladyville and he made an unexpected U-turn?”

Baltazar Goodger,
“See the ladies, they said hello to him.”

Keith Swift,
“And there was no way you could have prepared for this.”

Baltazar Goodger,
“That is why I was trying to turn off the road to not knock him but he still kept on coming around.”

Keith Swift,
“Do you feel lucky to be alive?”

Baltazar Goodger,
“Well he should thank God he noh dead because I wasn’t coming fast. If I was coming fast then he wouldn’t be living.”

Erasmo Perez was rushed to the hospital with that head injury. Police are still on the scene conducting interviews.
