He was a wanted man by the Financial Intelligence Unit and today Ernest Raymond Junior accompanied by his attorney Arthur Saldivar turned himself over to police to face charges of concealing documents relevant to a money laundering investigation.

It’s an interesting twist because just three weeks ago the FIU was forced to drop a single charge of money laundering against him because they didn’t have enough evidence.

But apparently they have enough to prove that he concealed documents relating to the investigation into the Coye family Moneygram money laundering investigation.

And here’s how that works. On January second of this year, police intercepted Raymond on the Lord’s Bank Road in a car registered to Melonie Coye – who formerly ran the Moneygram agency.

He had a gun licensed to another individual – and that charge was also dismissed earlier this month. But inside the trunk of the car, police found a number of interesting documents – including a 2 million dollar check made out to Melonie Coye – actually, it was for two million, seventy five thousand, five hundred and thirty dollars and thirty three cents. And then there was another check made out to the Melonie Coye’s father, Michael Coye for five hundred thousand dollars.

Raymond pleaded not guilty to the charge and was offered bail of 75 thousand dollars which he met. He will re-appear in September. He was represented by Arthur Saldivar.
