On last night’s newscast, we told you about a fatal traffic accident near mile two on the Northern Highway.
The driver of the Toyota pickup truck, Carlomagno Romero has been served with an notice of intended prosecution. The deceased sixty two year old Ron Menzies is expected to be laid to rest on Saturday.
Following our newscast last night, the wife of the driver Pauline Romero denied reports that her husband was speeding.
She says that her family will be assisting Menzies’ relatives with funeral expenses.
Police say the accident continues to be investigated. There are several accounts of what happened, including one that suggests that Ron Menzies may have been intoxicated at the time because he was seen staggering along the highway.
His family has denied that.
Ron Menzies received multiple head and body injuries and died on the spot.
