A 69 year old was charged with burglary today – it’s already an unusual crime for an older man – and it’s made more so in this case because Richard Young Sr. is accused of burglarizing the property of his own son, Richard Young Junior!
Young appeared today in the #3 Magistrate’s Court where he was accused of burglarizing his son’s business “Jr. Fish Shop and Yankee Wear” at mile two and a half on the Northern Highway on July 26TH. Young Jr. claimed that his father used a key to get in and stole an assortment of clothes, jewellery, footwear and about 40 pounds of fish – amounting to a value of $5,265.
Magistrate Tracy Sosa offered him bail of four thousand dollars. But because he could not meet it, he was remanded into custody. He is scheduled to re-appear in court in September.
