“Brigidim-buf!” It’s a sound being heard frequently across the Southside for the past few weeks as houses have been falling “left-right-and center.” And so, another family is homeless tonight after their house collapsed on Friday. This time it was Curl Thompson Street at a two bedroom wooden house which Kevin Flowers built ten years ago and which his common-law wife and three children called home. Flowers – who said he wouldn’t have gone on national television if he didn’t have to – said his house came tumbling down when he came home from work. He said he’d been asking his Area Representative Boots Martinez for help for months but those requests fell on deaf ears. That is why he turned to us.
Kevin Flowers, Homeowner
“Friday night after I came in and open the door, it just started to snap up and drop, as easy as that. Because I knew the condition it was in, I came off the verandah and watched it bruk up.”
Keith Swift,
“What is the damage?”
Kevin Flowers,
“Well everything got broke up. The house is busted up.”
Keith Swift,
“This was Friday night, where have you guys been staying since?”
Kevin Flowers,
“Well from then my girl has been staying at her family but this is

where I live.”
Keith Swift,
“Did you expect this?”
Kevin Flowers,
“Well yes after walking in you hear the boards di snap up and thing. I was trying to brace it up until I get some health but the brace couldn’t work no more.”
Keith Swift,
“Did you attempt to get help?”
Kevin Flowers,
“Yes several times. They said they would come, you know the regular thing, everybody who is going through it know it, I don’t have to really explain it, they say they would come and don’t come until you are on your all fours and are looking to dead that is when somebody comes. Once you are going through it you will know it, it is no lot of explanation.”
Keith Swift,
“What are you going to do?”
Kevin Flowers,
“Well I don’t know if we will get help. Otherwise from that I just have to take everything one day at a time. I am asking for help again, explaining to the people who I asked already. Now the house is down on the ground, I don’t know if they are really interested now.”
Flowers says he will again attempt to solicit assistance from his Area Rep.
