There have still been no arrests for the murder of 16 year old Mahogany Heights resident Austin Tillett. Police today confirmed that the four suspects who were detained – three 16 year old’s and one 17 year old – have all been released because there was not enough evidence to charge them. Investigators say they have a couple new leads and that they are presently looking for someone else. The teenaged Tillett was tortured and then butchered to death on Sunday in Mahogany Heights.
Police pathologist Mario Estradabran performed a post mortem this afternoon which certified that Austin died from asphyxiation due to multiple stab wounds. He was stabbed in the neck, chest, right upper arm, and his face but it was the deep slice to his throat that killed the 16 year old.
