A parolee will go back to jail for punching a man and then stealing his money. 33 year old Wayne Anthony appeared in Magistrate’s Court where he was charged with robbery and harm. The allegation is that on Sunday night at 9:00, when 29 year old Louton Williams says he was walking on Orange Street and Anthony punched him in the mouth and then stole seventy-five dollars form his pants pocket. Police were in the area, saw what happened and pursued Anthony into a nearby ally where he was apprehended.

Anthony pleaded not guilty today and was offered bail of four thousand dollars. He was not able to meet the bail, but even if he could have, he was still going to jail for violating the terms of his parole.

He was on parole for a theft in November of 2007 for which he was sentenced to 5 years; he received parole after serving a third of his sentence. That conviction dates back to an incident almost two years ago in November of 2007.
