A student cracked his classmate’s skull yesterday at the Maud Williams High School. Yesterday during recess - 14 year old Kadeem Babb was hit in his head with a t-square, a geometric tool used in technical drawing class by another student.

The t-square broke on Kadeem’s head and cracked his skull. He was rushed to the hospital and doctors removed pieces of the t-square that were lodged in his skull. Kadeem is still listed as critical but was able to communicate with his family today.

And according to his family, Kadeem has says he doesn’t want to press charges. That is because the family says the boys are friends and the friend meant no harm. Both families are in contact and jointly visited Kadeem at the KHMH this evening. Kadeem will likely have a long road to recovery.

Maud Williams High School, which was formerly St. Michael’s College, refused to even allow us on the compound to speak to Principal Carolyn Williams. The fourteen year old student could still face charges.
