Jose Estrada Killed on Western Highway

A man was killed in a one car accident on the Western Highway over the weekend. It occurred yesterday between miles 72 and 73. Police say they visited the location and found a heavily damaged grey Toyota Corolla. Trapped inside the car behind the steering wheel was 29 year old Jose Antonio Estrada. He was pronounced dead on arrival and his body was retrieved and transported to the morgue at the San Ignacio Town Hospital.

Police say that Estrada was driving home from San Ignacio to Benque when he lost control of the vehicle between mile 72 and 73 and crashed into a culvert. Reports to 7News are that alcohol was not a factor but Jose Estrada who is a taxi driver had worked three consecutive days and was tired and fell asleep behind the wheel.
