A husband who came to his wife’s aid during an armed holdup and robbery is recovering from a stab wound. The drama unfolded on Monday inside Nicole Store in Belmopan. Businessman Ludwing Jesus Neyra told police that he was along with his wife inside their establishment when two armed masked men entered. One held a handgun while the other had a knife. Both men approached his wife and demanded money.
That is when the husband said as he tried to help his wife the man holding the knife stabbed him in his abdomen. The robbers then stole one thousand dollars in cash and then ran out of the store. Ludwing Jesus Neyra was taken to the Western Regional Hospital where he remains admitted in a stable condition. So far Belmopan police have no one detained.
