Last night we told you about the bloody fight between two women at a restaurant on East Canal. Well tonight we know the names and the details of those involved. Police have charged a tacos vendor for yesterday’s attack on a waitress. At around 10:30, 32 year old Guatemalan national Myrna Pineda confronted and brutally stabbed 26 year old Claudia Gutierrez inside the Plum Street Restaurant on East Canal Street. Gutierrez was stabbed several times and her nose and cheek were also cut. She was rushed to the KHMH and Pineda was taken to the police station. She was today charged with grievous harm. She pleaded not guilty.

Magistrate Albert Hoare granted her bail of $4,000. She was however still detained pending a check of immigration status. The motive for the stabbing was reportedly what’s colloquially called “man business” – Pineda’s common-law husband has a child with Gutierrez and the two have been feuding.
