He got off on a murder charge in June of 2009 and no less than four charges pending before the court, but tonight Mark Medina is behind bars; he’s been for keeping an unlicensed firearm. He pleaded not guilty but Magistrate Margaret McKenzie explained that the court cannot offer him bail because of the firearm offence. Medina was remanded until February fourth.
Police found the 9 milimeter pistol loaded with 16 rounds when they searched his home at #48 Berkeley Street on December 28th. Medina has a another case of keeping an unlicensed firearm and ammunition pending for which he is to re-appear in court on January 28; he also had a pending charge for assaulting a police officer and common assault for which he is due back in court on January sixth and February second respectively.
