A policeman’s gun was stolen during a struggle early this morning. Constable Elroy Vernon says that at 3:30 this morning he saw a man sitting in his car which was parked in front of his home. Notably, police have refused to release the address of that home.
Constable Vernon says he fired a shot from his.38 police issued service revolver and ordered the man to get out. The man did and Constable Vernon along with a friend, Sam Malik, searched him. Vernon then decided to handcuff him – and that’s where a struggle started. The man bit Sam Malik and Constable Vernon started to tussle with him and during that struggle, the suspect grabbed constable Vernon’s 38 revolver and fled the scene with it. Police are investigating.
