Last night the mother of a 14 year old boy who says he was sodomized by 32 year old Keon Williams, aka Gambis, appeared on 7News complaining about his release from prison. Well there is big news tonight and it is that Gambis isn’t out on bail – he is a fugitive. It turns out that Williams somehow slipped out of police custody on Tuesday January 12th after his arraignment for committing an unnatural crime. The Police Department made no mention of the unauthorized release but 7News has confirmed that two police officers are being investigated in connection with Gambis’ sudden disappearance.
And that takes us to Supal Street where Gambis lives and to his very angry mother Enid Williams who says that this afternoon police descended on the area in search of her son. Enid says her son didn’t bugger the boy and more than that – she is accusing the boy’s mother of blackmail.

“The police came this afternoon about after twelve and harassed in the yard for Supal Street for 3168 and the holler where ix the [expletive] because they are looking for the [expletive]. That is totally disrespectful. If you came to look for somebody, call the person by their correct name.”
Keith Swift,
“What do you think is behind all of this, why did she go to police?”
Enid Williams,
“Because somebody is setting her up and if Gambis had given her the
money which she called for maybe this wouldn’t have been but everybody told Gambis not to give her no money.”
Keith Swift,
“So you’re saying….?”
Enid Williams,
“If we had paid her off the money. She called for money plus as I told you already, she had already said Gambis didn’t do nothing. She said she didn’t believe her son so why all of a sudden now because her son is crying to she like a baby.”
Keith Swift,
“But he is only 14 but he is a child.”
Enid Williams,
“Yes he is 14 but asks her son who all he hangs out with. He nuh hang out with his age, he hangs out with big man. He hangs out with big man. That little boy goes in late at night, all ‘round 1 or 2 o’clock. That is a lil boy? He is not a lil boy.”
Keith Swift,
“Do you know where your son is?”
Enid Williams,
“I don’t where Gambis is because I haven’t even seen him and plus Gambis didn’t come to me before she went to the police. The only thing I can recall is that last week Gambis asked me, because he calls me Enid, he said ‘Enid you heard this allegation that is going around about me.’ I said Gambis yes I hear but if you know you didn’t do anything why worry about it. And then he said Gambis attacked him a second time in November. If he said Gambis attacked him first in August at the park, from then he should have gone home to his mother and explain everything to his mother. But he didn’t explain nothing to her. He wanted to go again November as what he said that Gambis came for him again. So if he said Gambis did it, he too is for it.”
Keith Swift,
“But let me ask you this, does your son ‘rest like that?’”
Enid Williams,
“No, my son doesn’t rest like that. Gambis is a womanizer. Gambis has a lot of woman, a lot of woman he has.”
So that is the situation tonight, Gambis is out and police are searching for him. The boy again says he was sodomized in November and that Gambis attempted to do it again on December 31st. Gambis has had previous run-ins with the law but not for sex crimes. In July of 2004 he along with three other men were charged for the murder of businessman Nadir Husman. That charge was later dropped.
