And from a broad daylight murder to a broad daylight armed robbery this morning on Albert Street. The target was Doony’s Store at the corner of Albert and Prince Streets. At approximately 11:28 – three men entered the store, stole the security guard’s gun, and then pistol whipped an employee. It was all caught on camera. Here is what happened.

Keith SwiftReporting,
The robbers, all wearing striped polo shirts, pulled up on bicycles in front

of Doony’s Store at 11:25 this morning. A camera inside the store shows them casually walking into the store like regular customers – regular that is until security guard Jason Maxon asked one of them to take off his knapsack.

The young man walked over to the bag area and looked as if he was going to take off his knapsack -when the other assailant attacked Maxon, and pistol whipped him on his head till he fell to the ground.

The other assailant meanwhile was accosting the cashier – jostling to get access to the cash register which was locked. During that struggle, the cashier was pistol whipped.

With the security guard still on the ground, the men fled but not before stealing the security guard’s gun and his cell phone. The robbers then ran in the direction of Prince Street.

The employee received a minor injury to the head. But the bigger news is that the 9 milimeter gun stolen from the security guard is on the streets. Doony’s was robbed in August of last year. Following that robbery – police officers were assigned to regularly patrol the area on foot but this morning no officer was in the area. Anyone with information on this morning’s robbery is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 0-800-922-TIPS.
