Jermaine Mangar, the police officer accused of being involved in a police crime ring is free from remand at the Hattieville Prison tonight. Mangar who had been charged with attempted robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery received bail of ten thousand dollars this morning. The bail was given on the condition that the 25 year old detective constable surrenders all his travel documents.

Mangar’s attorney Dickie Bradley applied to the Supreme Court on the grounds that Mangar is a police officer and he is unsafe in prison because he is in the same place with prisoners who he has arrested and charged. Bradley also says his client has an alibi. The prosecution did not object and Mangar’s next court appearance is May 6th.

Mangar has been charged along with Jermaine Palacio and Ernie Miranda. While the police senior command suggested that he was only part of the police crime ring, only Mangar has been criminally charged while three others have reportedly been placed on interdiction.
