Arturo Ek Sentenced

Twenty two year old Arturo Eck, on June 7th., he was found guilty of strangling to death and then sodomizing 49 year old Eugenio Tzul with an antenna.

The San Joaquin resident was sentenced to life in prison today in the Northern District Supreme Court. Before he was sentenced, a plea for mitigation was heard by Eck's attorney Hubert Elrington who said that Eck was sorry for what he did. Elrington also said that at the time of the offense, Eck was under the influence of alcohol.

During the trial Eck had said that prior to the incident Tzul made sexual advances at him and took advantage of him when he was drunk.
