One well known Southside business had its show window shot down yesterday. It happened around 10 am, at Dave's Furniture world which is at the corners of Basra and Tigris streets. Manager Lelani Habet reported that a man dressed with a red and black peak cap and a red bandana over his face walked up and fired several shots shattered thje glass and damaging various items inside the store.
There was also a robbery at Olympic Restaurant on cemetery road last night, where three men strode in with their faces covered with bandanas and two armed with black handguns. The unarmed man jumped over the counter and snatched an undisclosed amount of cash. That's when one of the customers, off duty security guard Efrain Guzman tried to fight with one of the men and he was shot several times. The three men ran off and Guzman was shot twice to the center of his abdomen, and twice to the left side of his abdomen. Police have since detained one person and are looking for two others.
