Police Coporal Mark August made major headlines in January when he was charged for beating up a mechanic who failed to fix his car - and - he claims - stole stereo equipment from his SUV.
In total he was assessed with 5 charges - but today all 5 were withdrawn when mechanic Fernando Searle and his girlfriend Tanya Petillo testified that they do not want any further court action.
August was charged with wounding, threatening words and damage to property when he told us August beat him with a wheel spanner and broke his left arm.
August was also charged with harm, and common assault for allegedly attacking Pitts with a metal pipe.
But all that went away today when the charges were dropped. No word yet form police on whether August - who was placed on interdiction - will be returned to full active duty...
