Twenty-seven year old Lancelot Flowers, charged with handling stolen goods for a stolen motorcycle he was found with, pleaded guilty to the charge when he appeared today in the # 6 Magistrate's Court.
Magistrate Dorothy Flowers fined him $1,200 and gave him until January 21, 2011 to pay.
The motorcycle, valued at $1,875, was stolen between 9p.m on December 6 and 7:50 am on December 7. The owner, Darren Dawson, reported to the police that it was stolen while it was parked at his residence on Haynes Street. Flowers said a resident of Wagner's Lane, known to him as 'Lionel', tried to sell him the motorcycle.
Flowers said that although he told Lionel he didn't have the money to buy it he took the motorcycle for a test. And just his luck that while he was taking that test run on Raccoon Street he met Dawson who told him that the motorcycle was his and he handed it over.
