Ava Pennil is the head of the Department of Human Services and as such, she's always helping people out - but yesterday morning, a criminal was trying to help himself to her SUV!
49 year old Pennill reported that yesterday morning at 5:00 am when she went to the white Mitsubishi van assigned to her by government she saw a man in the driver's seat trying to start the van.
She quickly called the driver Hilberto Perez and both of them managed to subdue the would be van-thief - but not without Perez taking a a few blows.
Police responded and arrested Mark Conorquie. He was charged with trying to steal a government vehicle, attempted theft and wounding when he appeared in court today. He pleaded not guilty and was offered bail of two thousand dollars with his case adjourned until February 24, 2011…
