The Mount Carmel Credit Union in Benque Viejo town is already under pressure as the result of funds that went missing years ago - and over the long Christmas weekend, the cash strapped credit union got more bad news.
On Monday morning the manager reported that when she got to work she found the safe open and $40,716. Dollars in cash and cheques were missing. Also stolen was a Chrome.38 revolver with 10 live rounds.
Police found a pair of gloves, a chisel wrapped in a piece of red cloth and a small plastic bottle of oil. No one has been arrested…
