Eighteen year old Elvis Aldana, who told the court he is a student of St John's College Sixth form, was sentenced to 2 years yesterday in the Magistrate's Court after he was found guilty of keeping ammunition without a gun license. The discovery occurred shortly after 7pm on October 10, 2009. Aldana and another person were riding bicycles on Poinsetta Street when they were stopped by a police mobile patrol. Police constable Mark Martinez, who searched Aldana, testified that he found one.22 caliber bullet in the right front pocket of Aldana's black pants. Aldana did not challenge Martinez's testimony and neither did he testify or give a statement from the dock.
