Sergeant Fitzroy Yearwood, Press Officer

"We received information of a shooting incident that took place sometime around 9:30, at the corner of Vernon and Partridge Streets. The apparent victim was Gilroy Garnett 22 years; he was transported to the KHMH, where he was initially listed in a critical condition. All I can say is that Garnett was socializing with someone at that location when a lone gun man approached and fired several shots at him, hitting him in the face."

"At this point is there a motive?"

Sergeant Fitzroy Yearwood, Press Officer
"We haven't established any motive as yet, and we are hoping that there are members of the public that may have witnessed this crime to come forward, and even if you don't want to appear at this station, just give us a call to help identify the perpetrator. We know or we believe that if he doesn't know his assailant at least somebody out there that may have been in that area would have had a look at that person, that might be able to help us in identifying the perpetrator of that crime."

22 year old Gliroy Garnett is tonight listed in a critical condition at the KHMH. So far police have no suspects.
