And while a maximum show of force was deployed at the court for those alleged to have been involved in drug trafficking - Corozal police also had to move with stealth and additional security measures last night when they transferred Jose Luis Robles Beltran.

Officer in Charge for Corozal, Superintendent Miguel Guzman confirmed that his officers had to depart from standard procedure after a cautionary phone call from the commissioner of police directing Guzman to transfer the prisoner as soon as possible because of security concerns.

Normally he would have been sent down with the regular prison run this morning. Robles Beltran was sent in a composite patrol with a police escort and was safely transferred into the custody of the Kolbe Central Prison.

As we reported last night, he is now remanded pending a re-hearing of two charges against him: the first for possession of a loaded unlicensed.25 pistol and the second for possession of counterfeit currency. Robles-Beltran was found in the Corozal Free Zone three weeks ago with the weapon and twenty thousand US dollars in cash.
