Last night you saw all the hellish chaos that played out in Progresso Village in a property dispute between a school being built by missionaries and the owners of an adjoining property.
Monica Bodden spoke to the family who got the worse of the exchange - which is also the family at the center of the dispute - but she also spoke to the president of the Parent Teachers Association who said that the school is much needed and every accommodation was made for the aggrieved family:…
Elisa Tek, President - PTA
"Well the problem is that there are saying that this is a street. So they had an agreement and they say that Government send a letter and they say that if we give them another pass we can continue building on this piece. So the church gave them a pass and still they are fighting because they don't want that they want this one."
Monica Bodden
"So now the project is a school. Apart of the school that they are building on this land?"
Elisa Tek, President - PTA

"Yes it is a school and we are getting this school because of a group of Americans that are coming to build this school for us - something that we are very thankful because no government is going to build a new school for our children so we have to fight for our children's school."
Monica Bodden
"The property is for the 7th day Adventist mission right?"
Elisa Tek, President - PTA
"Yes, this property belongs to the 7th day Adventist Church."
Monica Bodden
"So let me see if I am getting this clear. The school building that they are now working on is where a small alley way that leads to this family's home and they are fighting because they want their alley way but you guys already built two more road ways for them right."
Elisa Tek, President - PTA
"Yes, but they still doesn't agree with that. They want this area where the school is building."
Monica Bodden
"Now, what kind of conflict have this cause because I heard that there was chaos for the past two days."
Elisa Tek, President - PTA
"Yes it has cause a big problem, they were fighting each other with machetes and all of those things and I think it doesn't supposed to be like that because the school is for all the community of Progresso not only for me and not only for her. It's for everybody that wants a new school and for all the benefit of every single child in Progresso Village."
