The Mega Bingo man, Joe Marinan made the news on Friday night in the worst way - defending himself against claims of sexual harassment. He said he was investigating them for theft - and had not harassed anyone. It capped a bad week for the flamboyant co-owner of JD Financial - his jeep had been torched earlier in the week. And now, it looks like he's had it. Marinan sent a text message to friends this morning saying that he was leaving the country and told those friends that he's never coming back.
So what is the status with Mega-Bingo? Well Marinan was the face of the organization, but he is only a part owner - as the controlling interest is owned by Alfred Schackron - who niece, incidentally was the one making a complaint of sexual harassment.
Reports are that Schackron will issue a statement - presumably on Mega Bingo's behalf - tomorrow.
