There was a traffic accident on the northern away around 12 noon which caused traffic to be backed up for miles. It involved two pick-up trucks that were heading in opposite directions. It happened not too far from the haulover creek bridge - about 6 miles on the northern highway. According to one of the drivers - he was traveling in the direction towards Ladyville - when a Toyota Hilux - which was attempting to overtake a truck -collided head on into him. In an off camera interview, he told 7news what happened.
The driver of the Toyota Hilux was rushed to the KHMH. His injuries are uncertain to us at this time, but from what we understand, he received cuts to his head and hands.
