Police have taken a number of dangerous and illegal items off the street in recent operations.

We start with a green bulletproof vest which was found in an open lot on Banak Street in a pre-dawn operation this morning. The vest bore a marking "082" but there is no word from police if it matches the type used by law enforcement personnel. And when police searched an open lot in the George street area, they found a price of property that's definitely for police: an Anti Drug Unit camouflage uniform with bold ADU markings on the back.

And in another of those abandoned lot findings, on Thursday Ladyville Police searched an abandoned lot in that Village, where they found 158 rounds of 7.62 live ammunition - the kind that's used in M-16 machine guns.

In other less remarkable finds we go back to this morning, on Banak Street where police also found a black plastic bag with 72grams of cannabis, and two crack pipes - also in an abandoned area.

And another open lot - this one in the Back-a-Town area of the city turned up twelve 9mm rounds.
