She was only 14 when she stabbed Teresitia Vivas, but the girl, who is now 17 will spend a year in prison for it.
The minor was convicted of dangerous harm at the end of last month and today she was sentenced before Justice Herbert Lord.
A number of Mitigation pleas were heard and the prosecutor said the crown is not opposed to the most minimum sentence for the teenager.
In passing sentence, Justice Lord said the maximum sentence is 20 years, and he cannot offer a suspended sentence or community service because his hands are tied - so he imposed the one year sentence.
In May of 2008, Vivas was walking on Church Street when she was attacked by the then 14 year old teenager and stabbed 3 times in her back, once in her neck and twice in her forearm.
The 17 year old was found not guilty of attempted murder.
